Horror Junk - The Finale, the End, there ain't no more.

Title: Horror Junk - The Finale, the End, there ain't no more.

Date:  January 19, 2009

Size:  58.7  megs

Description: This is it. The end. The conclusion. The last one. And man, this is a LONG show, which should show clearly my devotion to the show. I made up my mind to not finish the episode until I'd finished the wine, and that took a lot longer than I'd expected. Also, as a guy who never drinks wine, the wine really got to me and I became a pathetic pile of mush by the end of the episode. I'm sure no one will bother listening to the whole thing, but for those who do, thanks.

For the record, I'm not planning on shutting down the site or the forums, but I do expect them to die down even more than they have already. But I'll keep checking in on them, and reply to threads when appropriate. I'm not sure what will come of the site, but the podcast is done. I may get a second wind with the site and make it good again, but I have no idea what that will be or when.

So that's it, kids. Horror Junk goes out with a whimper instead of a bang, but them's the breaks. It's been fun!

Re: Horror Junk - The Finale, the End, there ain't no more.

Ah, I've been dreading this day since you mentioned it would come. I've been with you guys since the third episode, Cheerleader Camp, right? Damn, it’s been a long time. Horror Junk has changed the way I’ve seen horror movies. It reminded me of the days of going to the video stores and seeing all the schlock-y  horror movies like Frankenhooker and other shit like that. But I was only like 5 or 6 at the time so obviously my parents wouldn’t let me see them. So Horror Junk makes me nostalgic for a time that never really existed. I remember when I first found Horror Junk; back in 2006 I was just beginning my stint as a horror movie fanatic. I didn’t care how crappy the movie was, how boring it was; if it had boobs, blood, or monsters, I wanted to see it. So one very bored day, I just searched “horror movies” into you tube. A few pages into the search I saw two guys sitting on a couch reviewing Cheerleader Camp [I think]. I remember watching it and being hooked from the start. I watched the first two episodes right after that and subscribed right away. I couldn’t wait for the next episode. And after a while I tried to track down the movies you guys were watching so I could watch them myself, no matter how painful they may be. I even tried to watch Skygen. Twice. Never made it more than 20 minutes into it though. So I really feel bad for you and Bryan for that one. I think I saw Stalking Hand before you guys reviewed that one. I remember seeing the trailer for that and thinking it looked bad ass. And I didn’t hate it actually. I’ve watched it a few times. And of course there was Slime City which I watched 100 times before you reviewed it and I’ve probably watched 100,000,000 times since you reviewed it. Agh, I don’t know where the hell I’m going with any of this. It was a hard episode to listen to, but I loved it. Probably my favorite episode. I’m with Adam, when the movie gets back on it’s feet, I’d be down for doing the score, or just adding some music for free. You’ve don’t a bunch of stuff for me so it’s the leased I could do for you, man. If you need music for anything, send me an email, dylanpalme@gmail.com. Don’t hesitate at all. I make music really fast and I can do it in any genre really. I’ll keep in touch via email, and I’ll definitely watch/listen to the new pod cast. I can’t wait. Ah, well I guess I’ll wrap this up. I love you guys, in a not gay way. If you’re ever in Maine, look me up and we’ll watch shitty horror movies and whatever the hell else.

Christ that was a tangent and a half…

Re: Horror Junk - The Finale, the End, there ain't no more.

Yeah it's bittersweet listening to that. Kudos for pouring out some personal shit as one of the stepping stones that became Horror Junk.  My Horror Junk card I got is hanging on my kitchen's bulletin board with pride!  haha
I found Horror Junk by accident in May of 2007..I was just typing in the names for 4th Floor Movies on YouTube and I seen a video of two dudes on a couch reviewing it. I liked how well they played off of each other and that's how 4th Floor became supporters of Horror Junk and vise-versa..And the forum posters were cool people not unlike some forums where people are complete jerk-offs!
That really sucks how the Horror Junk movie stuff went down like that. Seems like that dude just ripped you off. It definately would take the wind out of your sails when shit happens like that.
All good things must come to an end I guess, and as we get older and wiser, we all want to try new things! As I've said a million times already..Thank you Tim and Shea...and even Bryan for reviewing our stuff and becoming supporters of what we do. It helped us out as well! We continue to look forward to what you guys have in store!

So I guess this might be the right time to somewhat announce this. But I am in the process of doing an indie review show..it's been talked about for a long time now...and with downtime between each film we do...which is ALOT..I like to keep busy...Its all in the planning stages right now..and I have a cute female co-host so no one has to stare at my goofy mug for 10-15 mintues! As I've said it's all in the planning stages and I hope to get this thing rolling in a few months..I hope some of you horror junk forum goers will check it out..It may not reach HJ's greatness..but at least it will fill the void for a while!

Dylan, keep in touch with me at fourthfloortodd@gmail.com  I'd like to check out some of your stuff dude!!!

Hey, thanks for the kind words fellas! It does mean a lot. Horror Junk has been a labor of love for the past 2 years, and sometimes it really seems like I'm just talking into the air. Its nice that people are listening, even though obviously the listeners have dropped off lately.

But yeah, I tried to inject a little personality into the episodes, and part of that is about my personal shit. Thanks for listening to me blather about it.

Re: Horror Junk - The Finale, the End, there ain't no more.

My bad on the bum vino selection, although it still could be better than what was behind Bottle No. 2. I'll do a little research and bring some better stuff for you next time I'm wandering through Peoria.

Thanks again to Tim, Wolford and that guy who replaced Wolfod (What was that dude's name, again?) for all the work you put in to Horror Junk over the years.  I kid Shea, I kid. You were much more Sammy Hagar than Gary Cherone when it came to replacing a key member of a group, and you're contributions to the Horror Junk experience are heretofore noted. You're still an asshat for not braving the elements and hanging back in November though.

Thanks especially, Tim, for letting me crash the show on a few occasions, and for not getting pissed when my cat puked on your carpet.

I'm looking forward to what the future holds for you guys, and I'll definitely see you over at atomicast.net. If you're ever in the SoCal area, be sure to give a yell.

You're the best buddy! Hey, you and Rat Salade should hook up and drink booze. You both like drinkin' and you're both in southern Cali. Sounds like a match made in heaven.

Hey Tim, I just listened to the last podcast.  This sucks big time.  Just so you know, you didn't lose me, I just got busy and had a lot of catching up to do.  Plus I would check from time to time and never see an update.  Then all of a sudden there were a bunch of episodes.  So I just got through with all of them.  I'm sad to see Horror Junk go.  It pretty much fucking sucks.

You should come out and hang in Jersey sometime, Tim.  Keep in touch with me man.
